Head Start
A Preschool, Child Care Center or Home Based program for 3 to 5 year old children. Children participate in a variety of activities to increase their language, social, physical, and cognitive skills.
Current locations are: Dryden, Lansing, Groton, Ithaca and Trumansburg.When famililies are enrolled into Head Start the following add to the Head Start expereience.
Family Home Library (FHL)
It is imperative that we support families to read with their children. The FHL is a program for children and their families which provides books and materials that families can own and use together. Each month two books and two follow up activities and materials are sent home with enrolled Head Start children.
Preschool Summer Program
Preschool Summer programs are offered in the county each year to provide an opportunity for children to continue their learning throughout the year.
Reading is Fundemental (RIF)®
RIF develops and delivers children's and family literacy programs that help prepare young children for reading.
