Tompkins Community Action partners with low-income households and individuals as they develop to their full potential.

Who we are:
Tompkins Community Action (TCAction) is a private, not-for-profit charitable organization that began in 1966 as a grassroots effort to improve the lives of low-income children, families, and individuals in Tompkins County. We are one of nearly 1,000 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) in the US.

Each year over 5,000 individuals and families come to TCAction for assistance. We currently operate about 20 programs to assist these friends and neighbors. The programs we offer today may be very different from those we offered in 1966, but that's because the needs of our community are different. And as a CAA we are flexible and can tailor our programs to the changing needs of our community.
